Lifestyle Adjustments

  • Wear compression stockings to help prevent blood pooling and increase circulation

  • Elevate head of bed

  • Be flexible during daily activities

  • Avoid morning activities if symptomatic (mornings are worse for many due to loss of fluids during the night)

  • Decrease stress as much as possible as it can often aggravate symptoms

  • Avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, hot tubs, etc... as the heat enhances blood pooling

  • Avoid alcohol

  • Live life at your own pace as not to overdo it

  • Stay positive and know you are not alone
